Several occasions for picknicks as well as accomodations for beverages and lunch.
Start at the Railway station in Rheden, or park your car at Natuurmonumenten visit center, Heuvenseweg, Rheden.

Forest edge viewing the moor
From the station it goes up into the forest and after a short walk the first panoramic view on the Posbank heather appears.
Koepel de kaap
Koepel de kaap is a small guesthouse, the terrace has a beautiful view. For (hot) drinks and snacks, no toilet and only cash payment.
View at the Posbank
Mr. Pos is the person who preserved the landscape. A bank is a coach/bench. At this spot you find the stone bench with a tribute to Mr. Pos: the Posbank. Beautiful view as far as Emmerich, Germany, and the river IJssel. If you want a shortcut: take the path traight down from this point and you will reach Natuurmonumenten in less then 2 km. Indication: black piles.

Picknick spot with Panoramic view. There is a Sheep herd at the Posbank as there are wild horses. At this location, one can often spot roe deer at the right hand side of the path.
Valley with water-bassin
Walking down the valley crossing a water-bassin often visited by horses and sheep. The valley offering great lee and comfortable atmosphere.
Sheep fold (Schaapskooi)
At the Sheep fold, we take a left back into the forest along a small lake.
Restaurant de Ruif
Restaurant de Ruif offering good food and drinks for both lunch as well as dinner in a pleasant atmosphere. However, the service takes quite some time, so if you are in a rush better visit the Natuurmonumenten visit center that includes a self service restaurant.
Visitors center Natuurmonumenten
National Heritage visitors center offering maps, tourist information, playgrounds, toilets, a shop, rental (e-)bikes and a self service restaurant offering drinks, snacks and sandwiches. Open in daytime. Large parking place.
