Itinerary description
Very scenic trail with a totally unusual face of nature compared to the other trails in the area.
The trail starts off in a descent for the first half of the hike, where you reach the amazing secret water reservoir and then start to make your way back up.
The way down is mostly exposed to direct sunlight, dirt road and gravel. Hiking boots & stick are recommended. A volcanic like scenery starts to emerge as you reach the lowest part of the trail.
You stand up in the middle of the valley with a fully green hill on one side and a dry earthy one on the other.
The water reservoir is next, which will definitely not exist during the warmer months. You then start to make your way back up in a gorge-like trail.. having to cross through the stream at several stages. Just follow the red & blue dots from that point on.
About 2.5km before the end, theres a sign to visit the giant juniper which adds 1km to the hike (we did not do that) and instead continued all the way back to the starting point.
It’s rated difficult because of all the different terrains, some parts are very narrow, other parts require to cross through water.. we did it at a fast pace as well, which added abit to the sense of difficulty.
However it is worth it!
