Itinerary description
A nice hike along and above Woods Canyon, following dry beaver creek.
The trail starts at the second parking, south of the Visitor Center.
The trailhead is well marked.
Shortly after the gate, the trail will, for a short while, follow an old jeep track.
The first part of the trail is easy, past the Hot Loop crossing the trail becomes moderately difficult
The trail may be difficult to follow, for some short stretches, but it will stay parallel to the creek.
The trail ends at the creek, but some hikers hike further along the creek, even up to the Interstate.
The creek is called dry beaver creek, but it wasn't that dry, more like a river. (Begin April 2010)
The trail doesn't cross the main creek (dry beaver creek), so there are only some small wash crossings.
Even as the trail starts close to the VC it's not that busy, especially further on.
There are pine trees along the trail, so there will be some shade.
Hiking time: 4 Hour 40 Minutes
