Itinerary description
A very scenic hike to what looks like a crater.
Start at HWY 95 mp 173. Park about 200 Yards, past the dirt road (south) leading to the substation.
Don't hike along the dirt road, but start hiking down the wash (south).
Keep on the right side of the wash until you join the main wash. Turn left in the main wash and enter the Standard wash.
Just as the wash enters an impassible fall, take the bypass to the right.
On top of the bypass take the small wash to the right and head uphill.
Leave the wash after as short while and try to hike on top of the ridge.
This looks quite dangerous and slippery, but when you follow the ridge it's actually quite simple to get up in the valley above.
Surprise, the hike turns out to be really simple up there in the valley.
Now head for the saddle ahead (north/west).
The best way down into the crater (Saddle 2) is on the left side.
Go down and hike the wash until you end at a drop.
The first one is easily passable, but the next one is a lot steeper.
Head back and take a look at "drop 2"
