Itinerary description
A beautiful easy wash hike.
At HWY 95 mp 177 turn right at SARA park.
Park at the second parking, opposite the Hawks entrance.
Hike the small trail downhill, left on the other side of the wash you see fence poles, with a steel cable.
Take this small wash, following a Burro/hiking trail.
Follow this trail crossing a wide wash, steeply uphill until it meets an old jeep trail.
Follow this jeep trail downhill (right). Two times a marked (with rocks) Burro trail (take this) leaves the jeep trail for a while and eventually joining it again.
The jeep tail ends at Pilot Rock.
Go back more along the canyon to the left. Search for an easy Burro trail, leading into the wide canyon wash below.
You can hike the wash downhill for a short while as it ends in dense vegetation.
Hike the wash uphill, crossing the trail you came on and follow the wide wash.
Closer to the car take a wash to the left.
Take the Burro trail
Hiking time: 3 Hour, 30 Minutes.
