Itinerary description
A mostly easy hike along the White Cliffs with a view of Palm Island.
Hike down the main wash. At first the wash is rather rocky, but it gets better further on.
At point "Leave Wash" head for the flat mountain (first photo) cross country. (South/West).
Keep mostly out of the washes, try following the goat trails and very faint old mining roads.
Once at the dirt road, when you can see the Game Tank, follow the road to the left (South).
Or take the goat trail along the small canyon.
You can follow the wash or take the faint mining road on the right, that follows the wash on the right.
The route is not towards the game tank. (fenced of area).
When you end up at a drop, go back and follow the road (West) along the car wreck.
Keep following the wash that narrows a couple of times, until you reach the white cliffs.
Go up the wash to the left (East) and hike along the cliff side on a goat trail.
The way down is really easy and hike further along the wash.
The wash ends is a dense Cove, impossible to pass.
There is an easy view of the lake left of the cove, following a goat trail.
Plenty of other goat trails on the other side.
We hiked past the cove into another wash (North West). Take the next smaller wash to the left end hike up to the top, following a goat trail.
It looks rather difficult from afar, but it's actually simple.
Enjoy the views.
Head back the way you came, it should be possible to scramble up left of the Cliffs.
Park roadside at Mile 174.4
This is a shorter route to White Cliffs, but not easier.
It requires some navigational skills or a decent GPS.
On the return route it will be hard to get back to the car without a GPS.
WARNING: There is a shooting range North of the parking (Towards Lake Havasu City). Don't wander off in that direction.
