Itinerary description
Wonderful and not difficult trail which is partially goes along the dam. There are two routes - short which has a view point on the hill top and a long one. We walked the short route this time.
The surrounding hills forest was devastated by the fire back in 2016 and one can still see the consequences. I guess it would take from quarter to half a century to bring back the forest as it was.
TERRAIN: gravel dirt car road all the time with descent at the beginning until the dam and then ascent.
SEASON: practically no shade, in late winter and spring the trail may be eroded by various streams (depending on a winter), so be prepared to wet crossings. Plenty of anemones along the way in late winter and spring.
SIGNS: some plant signs are still alive, there are some resting places along the way. The trail is well definable.
KIDS: walkable with kids of any age, even prams with good amortization are possible.
There is plenty of parking place just before the start.
