Itinerary description
Do not do this hike starting at where I started on my route. Instead, start at the road between Novo Milosevo and Novi Becej - that will be a longer hike. The ground is totally flat but despite first appearances it is not featureless. Take time to look at the little things. You will see vole holes. Birds. In November there are flocks of cranes and geese. Look at the crane footprints in the mud - they are huge. It can be very wet/muddy, so wear the right shoes. The church is from medieval times. It was destroyed by Ottomans. The restoration is not that well done compared to standards in some other parts of Europe (unsympathetic concrete additions etc), but at least there is an attempt at preservation. It could be nice to go at sunrise or sunset, to get good light.
