Itinerary description

This walk was done after a couple of days of constant rain and as such the walk up the gorge which is normally dry couldn't be done and today's trail had to be done by walking an adjacent route higher following the river.
Typical single lane trail up the hill. trail with embedded boulders with loose rocks passing through gorse and low trees until you intersect the old stone aquaduct.
Follow this for a while before breaking off to intersect the rough road, which continues to the start.
Park by the building and follow the road up to the water tank

Flooded today

Due to the rain after the last few days this gorge was full of raging water. Normally the route can be done by following the dry water bed. However in this case we continued following the water but on the rocks above it

Mistake

We crossed over the river expecting to continue up on the left hand side of the river. However it was too overgrown and the river too high flowing to pursue that route. So we doubled back on ourselves and continued on the right hand side again

Once over the bridge a tree has overgrown the pipework. Make your way under it or go by the side of it and follow the stone pipework again. A little further on the pipe system disappears, but continue straight ahead and you will pick it up again.
