On 20.02.2021 a new route awaited us.
The weather was suitable for hiking and of course we didn't miss the opportunity. We chose the foothills of Liutzi mountain, on the southwest side, because the peaks were still covered with frozen snow and we were enchanted by beautiful images and a lot of history.
Our starting point was the village of Sarakinista and we headed towards the settlements of Nagopoulos or Stegopoli and Soucha. Our route was passable without large altitude differences and under trees.
The trees may not have bloomed yet but the bright sun and temperatures were signs that Spring was on its way.
Our first stop was at the Monastery of Prophet Ilias and then we continued on the Polytsani-Argyrokastro road until we met again a path that would lead us to the ancient city of Antigonea.
One thing most of our hikes have in common is minimal encounters• and all seniors. Some on the couches, others with their lives and in the gardens. But beyond their difficulties they always welcome us with a smile on their faces and give you strength and appetite for life.
Our next stop was in the ancient Greek city, in which we enjoyed the sun for a little while while also resting our eyes on the beautiful goddess that we saw in front of us. The castle of Argyros and our villages Arada-Arada. We took a breather and completed our last winter hike.
