Itinerary description
Anse Marron trail
The main difficulty of this trail is how easy one can get lost trying to pass large boulders. Adding the constant heat and sometimes dangerous rock passages, this is a track for physically fit and endurant. Take at least 1l of water per person and prepare for getting lost many times, especially at the beginning and at the end when returning / there is a big rock formation which can only by passed by going right through it. Also, stick to the shore. In most cases there is no need to go out of the jungle on the rocks where sun hits hard (and rocks are hot). There is definitely no need to go uphill. Keep watching for beaten path and for colored dots on the rocks. Do not go if not feeling fit or otherwise good. Do not go if fearing heights, scared of circling while being lost or not enduring heat. Taking a guide is still an option, however expensive.
And by the way, if you want a nice pool rather then a hard hike, go to the end of Anse Cocos.
