Itinerary description
About 80 km, 6 days backpack, May 31 - Jun 5, 2015. Anopolis-Rouvas Gorge-Marmara Beach - Ay Roumeli - Sougia - Paleochora - Elefonisi. Good trail, well marked. Absolutely beautiful hike and you could do it with only one night's camping. Water is an issue so carry at least 2 1/2 litres and know where the water spots are. VERY few other people. Maps: Anavasi 1:100,000 Chania, 1:25,000 Samaria-Sougia. Book: Cicerone: High Mountains of Crete (probably also Western Crete). A highly recommended hike!
