Route from Deurali to Tadapani via:
- Poon Hill (1.8 km)
- Ghorepani (3.6 km)
- Deurali Pass (5.9 km)
Day 3 is all about climbing Poon Hill at night to see the sunrise over the giants. The DhaulaGiri, the Annapurna, the Machhapuchhare. In a quick glance you can see everyone.
You have to be up by 6 so wake up at night, flashlights and go.
in reality a similar vision would be even more convenient later on, but do you want to put it?
The entrance is regulated and you pay 8 only for the sunrise however, after that no one checks).
The route is short, 1.5km and when you get up there is a useless wooden tower overlooking the clearing, a hundred Chinese people who only think about taking photos of each other and don't look at the phenomenon of dawn and a booth that sells hot drinks.
Healthy silence and some solitude would be welcome and can be achieved by moving around.
After the ascent (and descent), refreshed with a Nepalese breakfast, we set off for another approach stage which, after passing the Deurali Pass at 3128m, will take us down more or less to the height from which we started.
The route is partly uncovered, partly in the beautiful rhododendron forest, dotted with waterfalls, then again a little along the ridge, until reaching Tadapani (acqua-pani far-tada) because the spring was far from the village and it was necessary walking to get water
The great mountains keep you company along the entire route
