Itinerary description
3rd April, 2010
General Lee Sun-Shin may have gotten the inspiration of building his famous turtle warship by hiking to Anmin Ridge as the views of little islands protrude out like giant turtles in the glimmering bay of Jinhae. The hike to the top of the ridge takes about 1 hour and you will be welcomed with a view of Shiroo Rock (“Rice cake steamer Rock”), where the local municipality went a bit overboard with the zigzag of wooden stairs.
The late arrival of spring in Korea meant that wild flowers were not in full bloom and almost absent along Anmin Ridge, which is famous for spring flower hiking. However, the easy walk along the steep ridge with spectacular views of Jinhae Harbour to the south and industrial views of Changwon to the North made the hike enjoyable.
