Itinerary description
This is a great hike. Two waterfalls visited in a relatively short space of time. Left the car around 08:00am, back by 10:30am. The trail going up to Angel is quite steep, some degree of fitness required. Trail to Zorro is flat, half in the river, half out of it. You will get wet, s plan for it.
Best to get there early (around 8am) for a couple of reasons: firstly to get a parking spot at the start of the trail (in a person's yard, they charge $40 per vehicle, room for 8-10), and secondly to experience the falls without crowds. When we left Zorro two huge groups were on the way there. Both falls have relatively small pools, so crowds would significantly dampen the experience.
Angel falls is on the same river as Zorro, but further upstream (and much higher!). When we were leaving we met a group from coolblueadventures.com that had come up the trail, but were returning via the river itself, which involves rappelling down a few falls (https://www.coolblueadventures.com/river-exploration/falling-angels). Sounds like a lot of fun, will try it one day.
