Beautiful T / E ring with landscape and historical value.
The departure is from the square of the church of S. Stefano in Salcano where you leave the car. Enter the thick vegetation of the mountain passing under the overpass of the Nova Gorica ring road. The path is mostly uphill in the woods, you reach different intersections with other paths, in particular with the one that comes from the Gostilna Kekec that we omit. Several flat stretches flank private houses and farms up to the north-east slope of the mountain where a clear red indication leads us to climb a very steep path that turns out to be a long trench that will wind to the top. The conformation of the war artefact is very suggestive with stone steps, numerous caves and gunboats and a very short stretch with steel cable to help the climb. We reach the top after about an hour of trench. At the top the vegetation prevents the view and therefore a metal tower has been built on which to climb and enjoy the splendid view of the Holy Mountain, the Sabotino, the plain of Gorizia with Calvary, the San Michele. To the east the Trstelj and the Nanos. Sign on the summit book and fast descent along a path that takes you back to Salcano in just over an hour.
