Itinerary description
This route goes 100% through tea plantations all the way down to Haputale. It does not follow the main road you went up, and does not pass the tea factory. It goes down from Liptons seat and connects after 3km to Long distance Tea Route Etappe 14 which it follows to Haputale.
It is all downhill with stupendous views on small easy paths and tracks in the fields with no vehicles or other traffic noise.
Only in the last section the track is for 500m very overgrown and you need to zoom in on your wikilocmap to follow the gps track. Route is fine for people afraid of heights. There a no cliffs or scary parts.
A tuktuk to Lipton seat is 1200rps one way. To be there at sunrise you need to leave Haputale at around 5 o’clock.
There is a small restaurant at the top where you can get tea, coffee and breakfast (400rps for pot of tea and 50 for every samosa or pancake you eat.).

Really beautiful hike with amazing changing scenery. We saw a mongoose, lots of monkeys and many friendly tea pickers. Thanks for all the detailed instructions and photos! We were enjoying imagining how you did it without following any trail!
