Itinerary description

Alternative way to leave AV1, a bit more adventuruous, starting from Rifugio Sommariva Al Pramperet going back a few kilometers the same road as you came from towards Rif. Carrestiato, and then going down using a less used path to the busstop in La Muda, where we took the Dolomitti bus to Belluno. This is an alternative for the standard stage 10 to Rif. Pian de Fontana, and stage 11 going down from there to the bus stop in La Pissa which is a few KM down further on the road to Belluno then the one in La Muda.

We start going back on the 523 unto the split 523/543 (you ignore the 514 on the left which you pass soon), where we took the 543. Close to Magga Moschesiem, we left the 543 and took the 541 to the left. At Forcella di Scellabras, we switch to the 546 on the left which we followed all the way down to the main road. Arriving at the main road, we turned right, the bus stop of La Muda is 2 minutes further on the road.

Beautifull day of walking, the path is not much used (especially the last part on the 546) but always obvious. Sometimes very narrow, sometimes close to the edge, at one point cable assisted (the path is VERY narrow and impossible to pass without the cable, on a steep mountain side. Not suitable for people with vertigo !), at some point then again a super easy slow decent through the wood enjoying the many wild cyclamen growing there. You also need to cross a small river (no bridge) which might be more challenging if the water level is higher - we could just jump from stone to stone.

Once you have crossed the Forcella die Scellabras, it goes most of the time down, never difficult to walk (no rocks or steep steps down) except the 2m cable assisted mentioned.
