Itinerary description
Exceptional hike from Alpnachstad to Pilatus summit. Amazing sceneries from the start to the top. The ascent is moderate but long (Around 1700 m). The view from the top is rewarding! The point you reach first is the Pilatus Hotel. You have to climb a bit higher to reach the first summit "Esel". Two other high points there are "the cross" and "the radar site". Next to the Hotel, there is a beautiful trail that leads you to the highest point of Pilatus: Tomlishorn. This is very nice and it is worth the additional effort. We tried to do another summit facing Pilatus (Matthorn) but we were late so we didnt reach the summit. We came back to Alpnachstad via another beautiful route.
