Itinerary description
<<< English >>> The climb to Plateau Rosà from Breuil Cervinia is not as spectacular as the one from Courmayeur to Punta Helbronner. This climb is made in three sections (two gondola lifts and a cable car) and its summit is not as scenic as Punta Helbronner. You have nice views of the Matterhorn and of the ski resort that there is at 3,500 meters altitude. The price of the three sections (30.50 euros, round trip, July 2016) seems too high to be worth just to go up and down. Another matter is if you take this opportunity to descend walking from Cime Bianche Laghi to Breuil Cervinia. This was our intention but we had to cancel due to strong winds. That descent was planned to be: Cime Bianche Laghi - continue TMR to intercept trail 35 - turn right and follow trail 35 down to Lake Goillet, surrounding the lake counterclockwise until its northern part - turn left when connecting to trail 18 - turn right to intercept trail 16 - Breuil Cervinia. Unfortunately everything was summarized in a walk at 3,460 meters high. It is curious that the border Italian-Swiss is just at the exit of the cable car Cime Bianche Laghi-Plateau Rosà. Do not forget to go to the Bleu lake to take some beautiful pictures of the Matterhorn. Look at the GPS track to locate the lake.
