Itinerary description

Both sides of Tsivi mountain is excelent for hiking.At north side is the area of Aloida and also many water fountains.You can reach the place from katharo plateau or from the road start before mesa lasithi village,the 'entrance' of lasithi plateau from Aghios Nikolaos. From Katharo distance is shorter and the road better. Treking route it s up of you,you can start as we do from church of Aghios Ioannis or you can continue further for shorter trek(road is enough well and for normal cars).Until the end of road 1 hour and another 40min to halasa and Koutelo(panorama).Be aware near halasa,goats walk above and sometimes stones sliding down. Also is some points with destroyed path, need attention. If you heard somebody to call you loud is Manolis,72 years old shepherd of the area , very sociable and hospitable.Scream is invitation for raki and rest.
