Itinerary description
This trail starts at the top of the La Hoya residential area (estate) and the first few hundred meters require you to hike up the hillside passing two fences.
If you want to skip this ascent, you can alternatively start this hike from the Almuñia estate entrance (between km pole 7 & 6 on the A377 towards Gaucin).
Once you are on the Almuñia estate road it’s a very nice and easy hike with some nice views on the surrounding valleys, Gibraltar, and the Crestellina.
We were actually planning to do a different loop but a herd of cows were blocking the way and the bulls were very protective of the calves, so we decided to follow this nice route instead.
Somewhere along the route you’ll encounter a cortijo-gate that says “private”, open it and press on, it’s not actually private terrain.
