Itinerary description
Hi!
This stage is one of many of our True-Hike from Sagres to Andorra. We've hiked more than 2500 kilometers through the Iberian Peninsula. The first kilometers took us along the Algarve to Spain and onwards to Tarifa, then north to Ronda, Olvera, and Seville. From there, we followed the Via de la Plata through Andalusia, Extremadura, and Castile and León. We crossed Mérida, Cáceres, Salamanca, and Zamora, where we left the old pilgrimage route to head for the Pyrenees through the Basque Country and Navarre. We passed the beautiful cities of Tordesillas, Valladolid, Burgos, Miranda de Ebro, Vitoria-Gasteiz, and Pamplona. That’s where the mighty and beautiful Pyrenees began! Mostly through Spain, but sometimes a little bit of France, led us through Aragón and Catalonia across the border to Andorra. What a trip...

We've documented every stage (and there are 112 of them!) of this wonderful trail on our site Hike5.com. Accompanied by photos, descriptions of our experiences, a fair amount of culture, history, and stories. And of course, maps of our route.
