Itinerary description

This mostly ridge trail has some great views of Kootenay lake and mountains to the north and east on the way up but lesser views from the summit. To get to trailhead, travel past Procter after Harrop Ferry. Just after Procter, turn left for .6 km up Alexander Road. Road become Carson Logging Road. Travel 6.6 km to trailhead. Road is suitable for 2WD drive vehicles but there are numerous drainage channels across the road so decent clearance and driving skills are recommended. The trail is generally well marked but is not travelled frequently so it is important to stay very close to the ridge. After the initial ascent, as the trail follows a narrow ridge for the entire distance, the direction is generally obvious even if the trail seems to be non evident for sections towards the end.

Trailhead

The trailhead and parking area. There are no signs here but the narrow road up the left is more suitable for 4WD vehicles and there is no parking at the top so it is recommended to park here.
