Itinerary description
It is easy to reach this trail from Kyrenia by a 15-minute car ride. Alevkaya (Halevka) is one of the oldest traditional recreational area for Cypriots. The forestry station and a picnic area was established here by the British. This trail visits Sourp Magar (the Armenian Monastery) hidden in a valley in the mountain, another ruined chapel (Viran Church) and it is one of the best places to see orchids in spring. It is possible to see up to 14 different species of orchids on a single trail.

Beautiful trail with plenty of interesting sites along the way. The orchids were not in bloom yet when I went in March, but it was still a gorgeous forest. The 3 ruins passed along the way are also very interesting.
