Itinerary description
Albufeira - Falesias hiking
in this tracklog:
*Km 03.8: couldn't pass through the beach, due to sea level rising
*Km 04.5: way too narrow nearby the sand with the risk of falling, so took another safer way inside, but less logical to go back to the trail.
*Km 05.9: start of point that can't keep through the coast, need to go inside "torre da medronheira" neighborhood.
*Km 07.4: beginning of trail known as "Olhos Dagua Trail"
*Km 07.5: trail with some issues, and land falling, take care
*Km 08.3: google satellite view shows an obvious way through the beach, but sea level was much higher and was not possible to do it. Not just high sea level from the day, probably this way is really not practicable anymore. The only escape way, leaded us inside the open garage of a private property and we needed to jump a low wall.
*Km 10.6: take the way to the beach at your right (I mistaked and just took after going around some closed entrances, until 10.9km)
There's no public transport access in the end of the trail (Falesias beach free parking lot), but depending on season and day, it's easy to take a lift from there (what I did)

We picked up this route from Oura beach and followed it as far as Olhos d'Aigua - it was easy to follow with a bit of clambering in places but the scenery was absolutely beautiful and so worth it! Best activity we've done in Albufeira

I did the trail today, at 5.9 I thought I'd stay near the coast. This proved to be a stupid decision, I had a very difficult time traversing the cliffs, then unable to find a way down,a recent rockfall didn't help. My only option was to climb into club med, exit through their security gate, then continue the trail. At olhis de agua section the tide was up, so had to go up and through a few ravines to get to Praia olhis de agua. A knotted rope and tree roots helped, but a path existed. Lovely afternoon well spent.
