Trekking and ascent to Mount Albert Edward, located in the Strathcona Provincial Park of Vancouver Island, province of British Columbia, Canada. The park is in an area of forests and lakes located in the central area of the island, close to the Comox Valley. It has several trails that lead to different sectors, all very well marked and signposted. This time we did the trail that leads to Mount Albert Edward passing through Circlet Lake, where we camped for 2 nights. In total it was a 37km walk, divided into 3 sections. The first day 10.5km to the lake, the second 16km to the summit and back to the lake, and the third day 10.5km back to the parking lot by an alternative route. You enter through an area known as Raven Lodge, where you can park. The trails are marked and signposted throughout the route. In Circlet Lake there are what they call outback camps, or wild campsites, in theory without services. Despite this, the sites have wooden platforms (since it is a very humid area and the floor is usually muddy), metal boxes to protect the food from the bears that abound in the area, and bathrooms with a composting system, very clean and odorless. A true luxury. We draw water from the lakes, we try to keep it clean and we were careful to boil it and use water purification tablets, and it worked very well. Both the landscapes and the views are incredible and very different from what I am used to seeing in the Central Andes!!
