Alava1000+ 1004 m Carrascal

Según mendikat.net, en Álava existen casi 250 montes de mil metros o más. Éste es el Carrascal, de 1004 metros

Mi ascensión

Esta insustancial cima se puede ascender accediendo por la carretera A-3132, entre Bajauri y Lagrán. Si se conduce en dirección Sur, existe una pista forestal que sale de la carretera por la derecha y que es la que hay que coger. No es muy visible

Administrativamente, esta cima está en el Condado de Treviño y eso es Castilla y León, provincia de Burgos. No obstante, al estar dicho Condado incluido en lo que es la provincia de Álava, he considerado este monte como alavés/burgalés

Justo al lado de la carretera, en la pista, se pueden dejar unos tres coches pero asegurándose de que queda paso para otros vehículos. No obstante, unos 200 m más adelante por esa pista de tierra, hay más espacio para aparcar

Como digo, mi opinión es que esta ascensión tiene poco valor. Son menos de 250 metros de desnivel y la cima es decepcionante. La cumbre es una zona del bosque sin vistas y con unas cuantas agrupaciones de hayas jóvenes, sin hito ni ningún tipo de señalización



Pero lo que no tiene de interesante como cima sí lo tiene como un paseo tranquilo por el bosque. Tenemos roble y hayas en un entorno muy poco frecuentado. Todo el camino, salvo los últimos metros antes de la cima, se caminan por una pista forestal de tierra para coches 4x4 que no tiene ninguna complicación. Los últimos metros antes de la cima no tienen ningún tipo de senda y hay que abrirse paso entre ramas bajas y arbustos

Nota: esta ruta, o parte de ella, es de ida y vuelta. Las indicaciones de los desvíos que se facilitan en el itinerario corresponden a la subida. Es decir, si el WPT marca “Izquierda”, es un desvío a la izquierda al subir, pero a la derecha al bajar

My ascent

This insubstantial peak can be climbed by accessing the A-3132 road, between Bajauri and Lagrán. If you drive south, there is a forest track that leaves the road on the right and that is the one to take. It is not very visible

Administratively, this mountain top is in the Condado de Treviño (County of Treviño) and that is Castile and Leon, province of Burgos. However, as this county is included in the province of Alava, I have considered this mountain as Alava/Burgos

Right next to the road, on the track, you can leave about three cars but making sure that there is a passage for other vehicles. However, about 200 m further along the dirt track, there is more space for parking

As I say, my opinion is that this ascent is of little value. It is less than 250 meters of difference in altitude and the summit is disappointing. The summit is an area of the forest with no views and a few clusters of young beech trees, no milestone or any kind of marking



But what is not interesting as a summit is interesting as a quiet walk through the forest. We have oak and beech trees in a very uncrowded environment. The whole trail, except for the last few meters before the summit, is walked on a dirt forest track for 4x4 cars that has no complications. The last few meters before the summit have no path at all and you have to make your way through low branches and bushes

Note: this route, or part of it, is a round trip. The indications of the detours provided in the itinerary correspond to the ascent. That is to say, if the WPT marks "Left", it is a detour to the left on the way up, but to the right on the way down
