This hike from Alausi to Nizag is an alternative to the train ride to the Devil's Nose and especially suitable for people who prefer it more active. The hike starts in Alausi (2350 m) and at the beginning still runs along the train tracks. A little later, the trail climbs up to the left and continues along the valley and above the train line to the Devil's Nose “Nariz del Diablo” (2200 m), the hill where the train used to zigzag down. Therefore, during the hike you have beautiful deep views from different perspectives. From the Devil's Nose, the trail continues to the small community of Nizag (2150 m). A local guide can be hired at Tourism Association in Nizag, moreover, a typical lunch can be reserved in the community house after the hike.

The hike can be divided into three different sections:

First section: From Alausi to the Devil's Nose
This section leads from Alausi (at the beginning still a less nice dirt road) on a beautiful panoramic path along the enormous gorge of the Rio Alausi to the Devil's Nose. On the way, you cross the train tracks once, otherwise the rails are always far below. The first section ends at the entrance to the viewpoint “Condor Puñuna”, where you pay an entrance fee of 2 $. The trail is about 5 km long.

Second section: Viewpoint Condor Puñuna on the Devil's Nose
This section is to get to the viewpoint of “Condor Puñuna” with a steel condor. In good weather, you will have a great view of two valleys and the Devil's Nose train station. This section is quite strenuous because it goes up and down again and again above the grassy ridge, a total of 4 km (outward and return).

Third section: From the Devil's Nose to Nizag
This section is less spectacular, although there are still beautiful views into the valley of Nizag. However, this section can be done by pickup jeep if someone wants to shorten the hike. The distance of the trail is 4 km.

DESCRIPCIÓN DEL TOUR

Esta caminata de Alausi a Nizag es una alternativa al viaje en tren a la Nariz del Diablo y especialmente adecuada para las personas que prefieren estar activas. La caminata comienza en Alausí (2350 m) y recorre las vías del tren al principio. Un poco más adelante, el sendero sube a la izquierda y continúa por el valle y por encima de la línea del tren hasta la Nariz del Diablo (2200 m), es decir, la colina por la que el tren bajaba en zigzag. Por lo tanto, durante la caminata tiene hermosas vistas bajas desde diferentes perspectivas. Desde la Nariz del Diablo, el sendero continúa hasta la pequeña comunidad de Nizag (2150 m). Se puede contratar un guía local en la Asociación de Turismo de Nizag, y se puede reservar un almuerzo típico en el centro comunitario después de la caminata.

La caminata se puede dividir en tres secciones diferentes:

Primer tramo: De Alausí a la Nariz del Diablo
Este tramo lleva desde Alausí (al principio todavía un pequeño y menos agradable camino de tierra) por un hermoso sendero panorámico a lo largo de la poderosa quebrada del Río Alausí hasta la Nariz del Diablo. El primer tramo termina en la entrada al mirador "Cóndor Puñuna", donde se paga una entrada de 2 $. El sendero tiene una longitud de unos 5 km.

Segundo tramo: Mirador Cóndor Puñuna en la Nariz del Diablo
Esta sección lleva al mirador "Cóndor Puñuna" con un cóndor de acero. Si hace buen tiempo, se pueden ver dos valles y la estación de tren de la Nariz del Diablo. Este tramo es bastante agotador porque sube y baja una y otra vez por encima de la cresta de hierba, un total de 4 km (ida y vuelta).

Tercer tramo: De la Nariz del Diablo a Nizag
Este tramo es menos espectacular, aunque sigue habiendo hermosas vistas hacia el valle de Nizag. Sin embargo, este tramo también se puede hacer en camioneta si alguien quiere acortar la caminata. La distancia del sendero es de 4 km.

Diese Wanderung von Alausi nach Nizag ist eine Alternative zur Zugfahrt zur Teufelsnase und insbesondere für Personen geeignet, die es lieber aktiv mögen. Die Wanderung beginnt in Alausi (2350 m) und verläuft am Anfang noch entlang der Zuggleise. Ein wenig später steigt der Wanderweg nach links oben an und zieht sich entlang des Tales und oberhalb der Zuglinie bis zur Teufelsnase „Nariz del Diablo“ (2200 m) fort, also der Hügel, wo der Zug früher im Zickzack hinuntergefahren ist. Daher hat man während der Wanderung wunderschöne Tiefblicke aus verschiedenen Perspektiven. Von der Teufelsnase geht der Weg weiter bis in die kleine Gemeinde Nizag (2150 m). Ein lokaler Guide kann bei Tourismus-Vereinigung in Nizag engagiert werden, außerdem kann nach der Wanderung in dem Gemeindehaus ein typisches Mittagessen reserviert werden.

Die Wanderung kann in drei verschiedene Abschnitte unterteilt werden:

Erster Abschnitt: Von Alausi bis zur Teufelsnase
Dieser Abschnitt führt von Alausi (anfangs noch ein wenig schöner Feldweg) auf einem schönen Panoramaweg entlang der gewaltigen Schlucht des Rio Alausi bis zur Teufelsnase. Unterwegs kreuzt man einmal die Zuggleise, sonst liegen die Schienen immer weit unter uns. Der erste Abschnitt endet am Eingang zum Aussichtspunkt „Condor Puñuna“, wo man 2 $ Eintritt bezahlt. Die Wegstrecke ist ca. 5 km lang.

Zweiter Abschnitt: Aussichtspunkt Condor Puñuna auf der Teufelsnase
Dieser Abschnitt für zum Aussichtspunkt „Condor Puñuna“ mit einem stählernen Kondor. Bei gutem Wetter hat mein einen tollen Blick in zwei Täler und auf die Bahnstation der Teufelsnase. Dieser Abschnitt ist recht anstrengend, weil es oberhalb des Graskammes immer wieder auf- und abwärts geht, insgesamt 4 km (Hin- und Rückweg).

Dritter Abschnitt: Von der Teufelsnase bis Nizag
Dieser Abschnitt ist weniger spektakulär, obwohl es immer noch schöne Blicke ins Tal von Nizag gibt. Diese Strecke kann allerdings auch mit einem Pickup Jeep gefahren werden, falls jemand die Wanderung abkürzen möchte. Die Wegstrecke beträgt 4 km.
