(Alaska) Route on 07/9/2015; 24 km; +690 -730; 9 hours. An organized excursion, within the Francesc Masó program, with the following itinerary: Primrose Landing, Primrose Creek Trail, Lost Lake, Seward. Output type: linear crossing; Difficulty: Moderate.

I expected to see the great mountain of Alaska and therefore from North America, but it was not possible during the excursions. But I could admire it from the plane on the day we came.

The start of today's excursion is at Primrose Landing, next to Kenai Lake. I remembered the magnificent view of Denali. The Denali is located north of Anchorage, at the 64 °04'N parallel, and has an altitude of 6118 meters. It is the highest summit in the northern part of the American continent and is one of the seven summits that make those who have the "Seven Summits" project, which proposes to climb the highest peaks of each continent. The other six peaks are: Aconcagua (6962m) in South America, Mount Vinson (4892m) in the Antarctic continent, Kilimanjaro (5198m) in Africa, Koscisuko (2228m) in Australia, Everest (8848m) in Asia and the Elbrus (5642m) in Europe.

Before starting to walk we hear the whistle of the train that circulates across the lake. We comment with a colleague that one of the most important aspects of Denali is that from the base of the mountain, that is, from the point where climbing is attacked, to the summits there is an elevation of more than 5000 meters. Denali's name comes from what the natives had assigned to him and which means "the Great one." It is also known as McKinley.

We have set ourselves up on this plain next to the lake ... ...
