Itinerary description
Akritokhórion - Foinikounta
This trail is meant to be done in the reverse of how I recorded it, which is easy, just tap "reverse" when you choose to follow the trail. In reverse order, you can start by parking in Foinikounta, walking the first section along the highway, then on a paved back road, then briefly back on the high way, with easy rolling elevation, for 3 kms. Then you will follow a dirt road and path down to the secret bay and beach, which is only accessible by boat or on foot. The last section demands that you trek across the rocks hugging the hill and the water line, so there's a challenge..see the pictures for the look of that part. Of course, if you choose, you can park elsewhere out of town, and make the trip much shorter, as little as 3 km total in and out again. As it is would be almost 9 km as a loop! There is also a tower to visit or view along the way, and near it a nice overlook onto the bay and beach...again see pictures, and enjoy! (Ignore the time and average speed stats, since I did part of it on my motorcycle, but recorded it all so the total distance from the village would be known.)
