Itinerary description
You can start the trail in Via XXV Aprile or directly at S jacopo Church (you can find a parking spot there). If you start in Via XXV Aprile, you can take a shortcut to the church just beside the fountain (trail 125). From the church, you have to climb up Via della Polla, until you find a earthy and slippery trail on the right. You take that path until the first turn, where you can see a small opening in the grove on the right. There is a little path that leads to the cave of Agnano. In this cave, footprints of ancient little dinosaurs (220 millions of years ago) have been discovered and you can also identify the wavy traces of an ancient beach. Once you're back on the main trail, you keep on climbing up and encounter at least two other sharp turns, an intersection (keep on climbing up on RET 123) and two stony grounds (one before and one after the intersection). You will reach another intersection, and you have to leave RET 123 trail and take the path on your left to the grotto, you will find it on the right after about 100 meters (330 feet). Note: you won't be able to see the entrance of the grotto from the trail, you need to stop wher the gps track ends and you see that the ground on your right is lower than than you. You are above the grotto and you have to turn around it to see the entrance. Be careful ont the entry slope and do not go to far into the cave if you are not an expert and well trained speleologist.

Le orme dei dinosauri sono nella buca delle Fate nei grezzoni?
Oppure nella vecchia cava di Agnano?
