Itinerary description
Pleasant and relatively short linear trail in the hills of Macheras forest. Walk mostly in the forest along the small river gorge with views on the mountain tops.
The trail ends (or starts) at Agios Onoufrios Church which we unfortunately didn't reach this time leaving merely 500-600m of unwalked trail as my kid got tired and refused to walk further :(
TERRAIN: it's a mix of dirt/rocky car roads with forest/rocky paths. Ascents and descents come in turns, some require a little bit of an effort. Overall is pretty easy walk. Hiking shoes and poles are advisable.
SEASON: the trail goes mostly in the forest where there is shade for about 50-60%, so potentially walkable all year round.
In spring time there may be crossing of a river, which is almost dry in summer and autumn.
SIGNS: the trail starts right at Acropolis Hill restaurant (which has quite big parking opposite); there are direction signs (some are broken unfortunately) but not on every intersection, there are quite some benches as well.
KIDS: walkable with kids of all ages
