Waypoints
We start the walk from the village plateia at Agios Giorgios Nileas.
Ξεκινάμε από την πλατεία του χωριού στον Άγιο Γιώργο Νηλέα.
Turn right onto small footpath crossing a water channel.
We then follow an earth road downhill.
Turn right onto asphalt road for short distance
We walk for a few metres on the asphalt road towards Agios Giorgos.
Turn sharp left onto earth road and footpath
The footpath continues after a few meters of earth road and enters woodland towards Pinakates.
Join the earth road and turn left.
The footpath joins the earth road. The footpath is sometimes partly blocked by vegetation at this point.
Turn left onto narrow path uphill. Red paint mark on tree.
The path can be a little difficult to see.
Turn right onto path and cross the water channel.
After a few metres, you will continue downhill on the main asphalt road.
Follow the lower path next to the wall of house.
(Do not take the old kalderimi path uphill)
Plateia of Pinakates.
We will return back along the same path for a few meters to continue the trail towards Vizitsa.
Turn downhill towards Vizitsa, after visiting the plateia ahead.
From this point, the path through the village is marked with red paint waymarkers.
Turn right cross asphalt road and descend on the footpath behind the metal barrier.
After crossing small stream the path joins an earth road. Turn right onto road. (Road to the left is closed by a chain)
Continue along path by water tank.
Before this tank, the correct path may be overgrown. You may have passed through the olive grove just below the path. The path beyond the tank is clearly defined.
Descend to earth road and continue uphill.
The connection of the stone path is destroyed by the road construction so maybe a little difficult to see.
Footpath - River crossing
The path either side of the river is marked with red paint. It will have more water in winter or with heavy rain.
Footpath joins asphalt road. Turn left.
The railway station of Milies is a few metres to the right. It is worth a visit to the 'little train of Pelion'
