Itinerary description

This trail is in the northern part of the island of Skyros. The trail ends at Faros (Lighthouse) but in this record the way back is included. So, you can consider it as a loop trail. The path is not good, however there are signs you can follow.

For starters, the first part of the trail to Renes is easy and the path is clear and good (1/5 of the trail to Faros).

After that the path is not visible in many parts and you walk through a small hill, then you continue through a long valley, parallel to the sea and then through a small hill again (3/5 of the trail to Faros).

The last part of the trail (1/5 of the trail to Faros) is the most difficult and dangerous. The path initially is almost not visible and you will need to climb in some parts and then it becomes slippery. This part goes through a deep cliff. At this point you can see the Lighthouse (Faros) which is the destination of the trail, but until you arrive there you have to be very careful!

Important tips:
1) The weather and the goats that live there may change the path in many points, so you may need to make small changes at your path.
2) Stay close to the flags in the map. This will keep you at the right path.
3) Make sure to wear trekking shoes because the terrain is full of sharp rocks. You can also wear boots to protect your ankles.
4) Make sure to wear long pants to protect your legs from thorny bushes that are everywhere through the trail.
