Itinerary description
Very beautiful circular trail close to the border with north Cyprus. In the first part of the trail you'll come across abandoned and already severely ruined village (Agios Theodoros) which adds to the scenery. Fantastic views of surrounding hills, gorges and sea.
I have to admit that the road to the trail start is also very beautiful.
TERRAIN: very diverse - moderate uphill and downhill, forest paths, dirt car roads, concrete and a bit of asphalt roads (a yellow road stretch on the map).
SEASON: the trail has about 40% of shade, some uphill climbs are fully exposed to the sun. To my mind the trail is better for cool seasons, including nature transformation which makes the surroundings very eye pleasing. The river along which you'll have to go about half of the trail has a seasonal nature but may flood the lower parts, so keep this in mind. As well there may be seasonal streams which erode the trail.
SIGNS: the trail is very good signposted. As I was told it was opened less than 2 years ago, so all the signs are present as well as benches.
KIDS: Ok for kids starting 5-6 yo (mind the elevation gain). There are plenty of free range goats along the way.
There is parking spot for 7-8 cars just about 50-70 meters before the start.

Worth the 1½ hr drive from Paphos. 😉👍Very enjoyable, excellent off road trail.

I took this trail in the middle of May and didn't see anyone else, just a lot of goats and a fox.
There is only one road leading to the trail from Polis direction and you need to drive half an hour though mountains on curvy and narow road.
Trail is full of nice views. The first half is quite steep and you pass few old abandoned huts, the remainings of old village I guess.
Overall it was fun walk. There is around 20 minutes part when you need to walk on asphalt road (didn't spot any cars though).
