Itinerary description

Second day of our Afqa highlands weekend. Starting from the same point (33 North shepherds house) and going north in the direction of Yammouneh highlands. After a moderate climb of 80 m, we reached a point overlooking a beautiful green valley (Wadi el Dabbour). Don't be tempted to go there because there are still mines from the leabanese war times. Instead, go to the right and walk towards a geodesic point where you can have some nice photos. The trail then turns to the south with some hills on the way. This area is a terrain for lebanese army trainings and you will find some spots of burned old tires. The sceneries are different from first day: no juniper trees but a wide plateau overlooking the Bekaa valley and anti-lebanon mountain chain. After crossing Afqa-Hadath Baalbak road, we continued the loop till the starting point.
