Itinerary description

First day of a 2-day-event with 33 North (Gilbert Moukheiber). The trail starts from 33 North shepherds house, a bedouin summer tent where you can book your accommodation and experience interaction with the shepherds. Pleasant walk in the land of Junipers. The southwest direction will make you have Kfardebian highlands in the background (warde slopes covered with a fresh snow coat). More to the west, you will have amazing sceneries stretching from Afqa highlands to the Mediterranean sea. The hike is mainly on dirt roads with some ascent but no technical difficulty. Many chasms (Gouffres, هوّة) are on your way mainly "Houwet el Sawda" (80 m) and "Houwwet el Badawiyyi (205 m). Be very cautious when approaching them, a slip is certainly fatal. After a steep descent on the way back, you will reach "Ain Homsaya", next to the road. At this time, it started to rain heavily. We continued the hike after a short road walk before reaching our starting point (Mekyel Beit Jaafar). We spent our night in "La forêt des chênes" which i highly recommend.
