Itinerary description
AHC (2800m, 9200ft) is a shear hill climbing experience with a height gain of 1400m over a distance of just 7km. One is able to witness from atop the vast plains of Kangra and beyond. It will be correct to say that AHC is one of the hills (so is Biling) which mark the outline to Dhauladhar ranges, beyond this outline lays the plains.
The initial ascent is through dense chir-pine forest .The trail is mostly paved with concrete (and bricks too in some portions) except for the last one kilometre where the stone-paved trail leads into the grassland that lasts till the summit. Within an hour of ascent, the chir pine jungle gives way to an opening (near the point where trail intersects the ridge) and most of the trail thereafter is without any forest cover.
