Itinerary description
Adam's Peak is a very intensive workout for the legs!
An extremely long stretch of concrete stairs rather than a hike really.
What I liked: seeing the stars in the sky as we ascended.
Overall the ascent felt rather monotonous (endless stairs) until we reached near the top where it was cold (about 8 degrees Celsius) and windy. People were sitting along the steps huddled under blankets like pigeons trying to stay warm.
There are hundreds of people who ascend at the same time.
After the beautiful sunrise, we got to see more of the surrounding views of hills and the sporadic waterfall.
We began at 2.15am from the entrance and reached in a little below 3 hours.
There are fluorescent lights most of the way but in some parts, we used our phones for light.
Avoid planning long walks the day after as you'll need at least a day for your legs to recover.
