Itinerary description

Our attempt to follow this trail:
ΜΟΝΟΔΕΝΔΡΙ(ΟΞΙΑ)-ΣΤΟΥΡΟΣ(1622μ)-ΕΛΑΦΟΤΟΠΟΣ-ΑΝΩ ΠΕΔΙΝΑ

Attempted to follow this path in May.

It started promisingly enough with lots of markers and cairns but after 800m they all disappeared and we found ourselves in a labyrinthine lost world. Occassionally the makers would reappear, a red sign, a short line of cairns, before disappearing mysteriously and leading us into yet another dead-end canyon. The photograph with the caption 'Foolish' marks one such escape. The terra is not firma, there are many cracks in the limestone surface on which to break an ankle. An added terror were long shoots of brambles acting as a tripwire under the ferns. After three miles we gave up and turned back.

I do not recommend this path.
