Second day along the Abel Tasman route. We did it from the Anchorage camp to Bark bay.
The landscape is very similar to day one. Lush forests and a path full of charm. Absolute tranquility. Isolation.
No technical difficulties, although the distance, the unevenness and the fact of carrying all the material and food can become a bit heavy.
The Bark Bay camp also has neither electricity nor drinking water. And there is nowhere to stock up on groceries either. You must carry all the material.
I recommend bringing a good repellent against the happy sunflies. They are a type of mosquitoes that exist in this area and are really annoying.
In our case, the streak of good, sunny weather continues, although the temperature does not exceed 20°. Perfect for walking with a good backpack on your back!
At the Bark Bay camp there is a Ranger who checks the Great Walk reservation, date and payment.
