Itinerary description
Having driven up and down this road several times before, we had already noticed the blue trail markings on the rocks. So on this particular day we stopped the car to take a beter look. Intrigued by the steep climb up from the road we decided to follow the trail and see where it would take us. Good choice, as alway when somerhing like this comes along. The first part was a bit tricky at times with some steep and slippery parts. The trail lead us to Saint Martin Cantales where we took some time to visit the old church. Next after walking down on the trail for some time, crossing a river and going back up again we were surprised by an old chapel located on top of steep cliffs in the gorges. Then up to the beautiful little village saint Christophe les gorges, crossing the abandoned railroad tracks and stil going up to follow the path back to the car. Nice hike with loads of variation. Good times!
