Itinerary description
The hike starts with a 1,200 ascent of Sinking Creek Mountain. At .5 miles the trail passes the giant Keffer Oak, one of the largest trees along the entire A.T. At 1.9 miles reach the ridge line of the mountain. Most of the rest of the hike is along the crest of the mountain, with views of Craig Creek Valley to the right. At 3.2 miles pass the blue blazed trail to Sarver Cabin Shelter (0.4 miles downhill). At 9.5 miles pass the Niday Shelter and campsites before continuing descent on A.T. to parking lot at Route 621. Little water along the ridge top.
