Itinerary description
This is my first posting so wanted to keep it short - A pleasant and easy walk, although it can be somewhat wet when it has been raining. The first turn off is soon after starting up the Steeraway, which is covered in old lime workings. Veer to your left approx 100 metres after starting in the woods. After you have passed the pond the woods open out to pasture and you then climb over a stile - Notice how the stream is full of iron and has a rust colour. On the map, taken from the satellite picture it shows open-cast workings, this is an old coal field but it is now grown over pastures, with the only remnants being the track itself and a couple of pond areas. Although the trail does not finish at the start, if you were to turn when the trail comes back on to Lime Kiln Lane you will end up back where the trail began.
