Itinerary description
A trek to the deep gorge that makes the bridge (THE puente) such an iconic and renowned feat of human engineering. Well Worth the effort anytime of the year but I would avoid the summer months tbh. What you cannot miss is the ‘other’ side and make a visit to the Casa del Moro and it’s gardens and amazing ‘mine’ leading all the way to the bottom a must. The clear celeste blue water and shear scale of the 191 steps down to the water (constructed by christian slaves ) is incredible. Finish off with a walk into the lower parts of ronda town a mix of morisco and Roman bridges and buildings will enthrall you for hours. Some parts are not for the faint hearted or vertigo sufferers tho nothing too heavy (or claustrophobia).
The final walk back to the pay park goes along the viewing terraces and Main Street and plaza where you can enjoy delicious cakes or a good meal or beer . Ronda wine is particularly nice
