Itinerary description
The hike starts at Çandır. From Dalyan, this place can be reached by taking the ferry south of the center and then driving past Kaunos.
At the starting point we find a market and drinking water.
We start by following the eco trails C4 ekincik-candir-dalyan.
First we come through a rural environment with agriculture and cattle. It is almost flat so the going is very easy.
After a little more than a kilometer the landscape changes and we go through a pine forest and now clearly uphill. The route is well marked with white-red stripes making it easy to find our way. This part is on a forest path but is otherwise still quite easy to walk. At a certain moment we see on our right a stretch of an ancient wall of the same type as we can find in the vicinity of Kaunos.
Shortly after, our hike becomes more challenging. We now pass through a stretch with impressive rock formations along which the path winds. We are already approaching the top of the hill and sometimes have beautiful views over the impressive delta of the Dalyan River. It is a beautiful landscape where we walk over cliffs and terraces with olive trees.
We still follow the white-red indications here and the path is marked out in such a way that we don't really get close to the edge of the cliffs. So it's also doable for people with a fear of heights!
We pass a barbed wire fence twice (although we walk on the eco trails route). So we have to be careful not to hurt ourselves (see waypoints).
Once past these fences, we pass through an area with olive groves and walk on easy dirt roads. This is followed by a stretch through pine forests, still on easy unpaved forest roads. This remains the case for about two kilometers, after which we turn right and continue on a beautiful nature forest path. This path is again marked with white red markings but the maintenance does not seem to have been done so well. There are sometimes obstacles on the path. But it is quite possible to walk past these everywhere.
This path takes us almost to the outskirts of Çandır. We only have to walk through a few streets of this hamlet before we are back at our starting point.
Some additional information:
The route is designed in a clockwise direction.
Time spent: total = 5 hours and 1 minute of which moving 2 hours and 5 minutes.
There are no picnic tables along the trail.
There is drinking water at the start.
The track is moderate from a technical point of view, but most part is rather easy.
It is not always easy to find the route. An adequate orientation ability is therefore a requirement. It is recommended to wear sturdy shoes and long pants.
Presence of white red signposts:
Eco trail C4: km 0 > 2,9
Unknown trail: km 4,9 > 5,9
(The rest is not indicated)

Disclaimer.
I have personally performed and then downloaded the route described, along with the track and waypoints, based on my personal experience. However, it is important to note that these should be considered as general guides and not precise instructions. Trails may not always accurately represent the exact itinerary due to factors such as weak satellite reception during GPS recording, especially in areas with ravines, deep gorges, dense forests, and similar conditions. Furthermore, the situation of the hiking trails may change over time, meaning that the descriptions given no longer correspond to the current situation.
It is the sole responsibility of the individual undertaking these trails to take appropriate safety measures, which should be tailored to the specific difficulty level and be in accordance to the prevailing weather conditions. Additionally, it should be realized that one's technical and physical preparedness play a crucial role in ensuring a safe hiking experience.
I strongly recommend hiking with a companion when venturing into the mountains. Always inform a friend or family member of your itinerary and estimated time of return. Ensure that your phone has a sufficient battery charge, and carry an adequate supply of water, food, and appropriate shelter for the season and the chosen route.
Please commit to leaving the natural environment as pristine as you found it, or even better. This way, we can all continue to enjoy the beauty of these trails, leaving behind only the traces of our footsteps.
