Itinerary description
Hiking with a beautiful view across the National Park Plitvice Lakes and in quiet surroundings (in comparison to the heavily visited lakes). Route including GPS / GPX data.
Starting point: Park entrance Rastovača, large (paid) parking lot [Plitvička jezera – Karlovac]
Time: 3½ hours
Details: Good (mountain) paths in a wooded area. Sometimes steep climbs or descends.
Route description:
From the parking lot we ascend (north east). At the end of the large parking lot a narrow road takes a right turn. A bit further on we follow a path in south eastern direction further into the woods (white/red markings with the number “4”). A good path through dense woods slowly ascends towards the first mountain top: Turčić (801m). From here we follow the mountain ridge and descend a bit first. At a y-fork in the road we follow road number “3”. Than we climb towards the second top: Medveđak tupi (876m, recognisable by a covered resting area). We go back to the main path for a bit and continue again in south eastern direction. Right before de actual (short) climb to the last top Medvjedak Ostri, another fork in the road is present (again) with road number “2”: here we continue ascending and reach the top Medvjedak Ostri (884m) after several hairpin corners. We return following the same route back.
