Itinerary description

Loop Hike from Winans Meadow to Crimea Area, Historic Buildings, Outward Bound Campus, Labyrinth, Magnolia Grove, Nature Art in the Park Walk. Use OpenStreetMap as your basemap to see the points of interest. Use OpenStreetMap as your basemap to see points of interest.

Begin at Winans Meadow parking lot:
Leave the parking lot heading west on the paved trail in the direction of the cement bridge.
After crossing bridge go RIGHT and follow the path to left of the stone building to a wooden boardwalk - this is the Stream Trail.
Follow the Stream Trail a short distance to the Ravine Trail & go RIGHT.
Go a very short distance and turn LEFT on Old Fort Trail.
Follow Old Fort Trail (slight uphill) to Old Wagon Rd Trail and go RIGHT, and enter a clearing at Eagle Dr (paved road).
Turn left on Eagle Dr, and walk clockwise, to view two red roofed historic buildings that are now operated by Outward Bound.
Then turn around and walk counter clockwise around Eagle Drive, towards the Orianda Mansion and historical markers. After the mansion turn right off the road to see the Labrinth, then continue into the clearing on the right is the Magnolia Grove, on the left across the clearing to the right of the gazebo is the beginning of the Nature Art in the Park walk, a map and signage are on a tree with a cone shingle roof. Walk towards the sunflower and walk into the woods around the Octopus on the right.
Turn left down an allée of Osage Orange trees called the Norman Reeves Nature Loop, passing art installations on both sides.
Exit back onto Eagle Dr and walk to the the yellow trail house.
At the Yellow Trail House, follow trail signs to Franklintown Loop Trail. After crossing the open area under the Outward Bound Challenge structure, follow blue blazed trail sign into the woods. After a short distance the Franklintown Loop Trail splits. To the LEFT is a shorter distance that will bring your back to the Old Wagon Rd Tr. If you follow that route, the trail runs behind Outward Bound buildings and an old stone wall. When you get to the Old Wagon Rd Tr, go RIGHT for a short distance, and bear RIGHT at next sign to remain on the Old Wagon Rd Tr. The trail will bring you to the top of the large hill in Winans Meadow. Go down the hill and cross the cement bridge to return to the parking lot.
