Itinerary description
An easy linear walk of 10.7 kms along the banks of the River Ave, near Trofa, Porto District.
Great for walking, road biking, and running, and we did not encounter many other people.
We made this walk in May 2024, and construction had started on a new bridge that will eventually cross the river, that resulted in a slight detour through a construction site.
The trail path was also being reconstructed at the 5.3 kms point, where we turned back, and this part will only be completed in a few months.
Although a little complicated to pass the constructions they did not spoil the walk.
The trail is flat, open all year and is beautiful to visit anytime ... in the future.

The "Parque das Azenhas" nearby (we did not visit) should have sanitary facilities, visitor support centers, a visitor reception area and a bar with a terrace, laboratory and multimedia space. It may also be possible to rent bicycles.
The park is one of the tourist attractions that promotes the natural heritage of the Municipality of Trofa.
